In my opinion the best way to remember the loved ones we have lost is to remember their in our heart, beacause if we remember they never will die. Probably at the beginning when we'll remember their we'll be sad, but this is the way to don't remember our loved ones. Naturally every man have yours personal way to do this. Vito
What a melancholic mood ! Christina Rossetti wrote a beautiful poem about lost loves.
Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann'd: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. In my opinion everything in every moment can remind the loved we have lost: a perfume,a song or only a word that in some way has a tie with him/her. Adriana
The loved ones we have lost keep on living thanks to our memories. It is not necessary either to own objects which belonged to them or to visit their graves for feeling their presence. The best way not to forget them is to talk with friends and relatives about them, trying not to mourn because they’re not with us anymore, but to smile remembering the great times we lived together.
Very true, Vito! ["when we remember them we'll be sad, but this is not the way to remember our loved ones. Naturally everyone has his own way of doing this"].
Beautiful indeed, Stefania! Thank you for sharing it.
Very Proustian, Adriana! ["...anything at any time can remind us of the loved ones we have lost: a perfume,a song or simply a word that is in some way connected with them."]
Excellent advice, Aleph! ["...to feel their presence"; "the great times we had together"]
